Burst (*1987 in Baden, Austria) lives and works in Vienna, Austria.

Burst began his career as a musician and restorer of wood, metal and wall. In addition to founding an underground music label, he has worked with a number of museum collections and the Vienna Secession building, all of which contribute to an understanding of the multimedia production of his artworks and the use of different materials. From 2019 until 2024 Burst lived and worked full-time as a media- and cryptoartist in Peru. It is there that he has developed his characteristic style, defined by the use of bold colours and striking forms. In addition to his use of multidimensional portals in his artwork, the universal HAHA motif is particularly noteworthy.

Burst, who has been working in the field of crypto art since 2019, uses blockchain not only as a medium for his works, but as an integral part of his artistic practice. His works operate in a field of tension between the digital and physical worlds, in which traditional artistic media merge with augmented reality, artificial intelligence and experimental formats.

When exhibiting he brings his hybrid creative processes to life, combining paintings enhanced via augmented reality, interactive installations that place visitors in the role of co-creators, and physical sculptures that playfully translate the conceptual leitmotif "HAHA" into three dimensions. In addition, Burst's recent work with Bitcoin ordinals points to his exploration of the idea of art as both process and medium. In March 2025 he had the opening of his first institutional solo-exhibition in the prestigious museum "Francisco Carolinum" in Linz, Austria.
